Mexico President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Wednesday that her administration will uphold the current government's position in an ongoing legal dispute with Chinese lithium miner Ganfeng.
The primary aim is to ensure that 'lithium belongs to Mexicans,' reaffirmed Sheinbaum.
In June, Ganfeng and two of its subsidiaries initiated arbitration proceedings against the Mexican government at the World Bank's dispute settlement center concerning a mining concession in northern Mexico.
