A car drove into the terrace of a cafe in the 20th arrondissement in northern Paris on Wednesday evening, critically injuring at least three people, authorities confirmed.
The driver fled from the scene, leaving behind a passenger who tested positive for alcohol and drugs, police reported.
This incident happened as France remains on high security alert in preparation for the Paris Olympics, set to begin on July 26.
