Former Bar Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Bhat Arrested Under PSA

Senior advocate and former general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Mohammad Ashraf Bhat was arrested from his residence under the Public Safety Act. He was later shifted to Kathua jail. Bhat is the third senior member of the Bar Association to be detained recently.

Senior advocate and former general secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, was arrested from his residence and booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA), officials announced on Thursday.

Bhat, who resides in the Rawalpora area of the city, was detained late Wednesday night and subsequently shifted to Kathua jail in the Jammu region.

This arrest marks the third time a senior member of the Bar Association has been detained. Previously, former Bar president Nazir Ahmad Ronga and another former president, Mian Abdul Qayoom, were also arrested under the PSA in connection with various cases.
