Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, pledged on Thursday to initiate European Union defense projects, including a European air shield, if granted a second five-year term. She also vowed to stay the course on green policies.
In a detailed 31-page document presented ahead of a crucial vote by EU lawmakers, von der Leyen outlined her vision for Europe's future, promising new climate initiatives and a focus on building a 'true European defence union'
'We will propose a number of Defence Projects of Common European Interest starting with a European Air Shield and cyber defence,' stated the document, underscoring her commitment to collective security and environmental sustainability.
