Rajasthan Education Minister's Regret over Tribal Remarks

On Thursday, Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar expressed regret in the House for his remarks against tribals.

Immediately following the commencement of the session, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani announced that the education minister wished to address the House. However, opposition members created a ruckus, demanding that Dilawar apologize and resign.

'They (tribals) are the best part of Hindu society; I don't believe in speaking negatively about them. If any opposition members or tribal brothers were hurt by my words, I express regret,' said Dilawar. The controversy started on June 22 when a verbal clash occurred between Dilawar and newly elected Banswara MP Rajkumar Roat. Dilawar had proposed a DNA test to ascertain Roat's Hindu identity, leading to protests from Congress and BAP MLAs during the Budget session.
