CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya has called for the withdrawal of cases filed against individuals in Bihar for waving Palestinian flags. Speaking at a press conference, Bhattacharya emphasized that India's recognition of Palestine under Prime Minister Narendra Modi implies no wrongdoing on part of those people.
At least four instances of Palestinian flag-waving were reported recently in Bihar, sparking controversy in neighboring Jharkhand as well. The BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad expressed outrage, and authorities arrested one individual in Dumka.
Bhattacharya highlighted that the flag-waving signifies solidarity with Gaza, where significant casualties have occurred due to Israeli military actions. He also criticized RJD leaders for attending the wedding of Anant Ambani, citing opposition to crony capitalism. Additionally, Bhattacharya denounced the Uttar Pradesh government's actions perceived as targeting Muslim fruit sellers during the Kanwar Yatra.
