In a tragic incident in Chhattarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, four individuals lost their lives on Friday after inhaling suspected poisonous gas inside a dry well, officials reported.

The incident occurred in Kurraha village, approximately 23 kilometers from the district headquarters, when a mason's hammer fell into the well, prompting multiple rescue attempts.

After being alerted by villagers, local authorities rushed the individuals to the district hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. It is suspected that poisonous gas from a nearby septic tank may have seeped into the well. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to uncover further details.
