The Congress on Monday accused Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of misleading the Rajya Sabha during a discussion on ministry-related issues, and announced plans to file a case of breach of privilege against him.

AICC general secretary Randeep Surjewala stated that the entire opposition, led by Sonia Gandhi, boycotted Chouhan's remarks and walked out of Parliament, citing the Modi government’s anti-farmer policies.

Surjewala revealed that the Modi government had admitted in a 2015 Supreme Court affidavit that giving cost + 50% to farmers would disrupt the market, directly contradicting claims made by Chouhan in the House.
