Sachin Waze Alleges Massive Corruption Under Former Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh

Dismissed policeman Sachin Waze has dropped another 'letter bomb' alleging former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh pressured him to undertake several 'illegal works', suggesting these tasks purportedly came from 'Pawar Saheb'.

In 2021, Waze attempted to submit a letter in a Mumbai NIA court claiming Deshmukh asked him to collect money from bars and restaurants—a claim the senior politician denied.

On Monday, Waze, under judicial custody, informed the Special Judge for MPs and MLAs cases, AU Kadam, about a new letter addressed to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, dated July 30.

Waze's letter alleges that during Deshmukh's tenure (Dec 2019-April 2021), the Home Ministry's efficiency dropped. Citing numerous instances, Waze claimed Deshmukh used his influence to get work done, often invoking 'Pawar Saheb'.

Additionally, the letter describes how Deshmukh and his allies collected large sums for police transfers and promotions, while Waze provided details of major raids conducted on illegal hookah parlors during his tenure.

The letter also touches on investigations by the Chandiwal Commission, rejecting Deshmukh’s efforts to influence the probe. Waze claimed he was falsely implicated during this period.

Corruption charges against Deshmukh and his associates prompted the High Court and CBI probes, resulting in an FIR and further investigation by the Enforcement Directorate. Deshmukh, currently on bail, has dismissed Waze's allegations as politically motivated.
