U.S. Urges Inclusive Politics in Thailand After Court Dissolves Opposition Party

The United States has voiced significant concern following Thailand's Constitutional Court's directive to disband an anti-establishment opposition party. In a statement made on Wednesday, the U.S. State Department underscored the urgency for Thailand to foster inclusive political engagement.

Despite not taking a stance on any political party, the U.S., as a steadfast ally and friend, urged Thai authorities to act decisively to embrace fully inclusive political participation. The call highlights the necessity to safeguard democratic principles.

Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the State Department, emphasized the need to protect democracy and ensure the freedoms of association and expression in Thailand remain intact.
