Private Members' Bills Introduced in Lok Sabha Address Diverse Issues

Several private members' bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha on Friday, addressing a range of issues.

N K Premachandran of the Revolutionary Socialist Party proposed amendments to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, focusing on changes to section 3 and schedule II. Similarly, Hibi Eden of the Congress aimed to insert a new section 5A into the same Act.

Manish Tiwari of the Congress introduced a bill to regulate and oversee the operations of Indian intelligence agencies. Additionally, Hibi Eden proposed another bill to safeguard airline passenger rights, including compensation for flight delays, cancellations, and baggage issues.

Bills were also tabled by BJP members Rajkumar Chahar and Janardan Singh Sigriwal, as well as V K Sreekandan of the Congress and D M Kathir Anand of the DMK, among others.
