Weekend of Violence: Multiple Fatal Shootings in Denver Suburbs

A violent weekend in the Denver suburbs left multiple people dead and injured, according to police reports. In Commerce City, four men were fatally shot, and a woman was hospitalized amid a spate of incidents. Additionally, in Aurora, one person was killed, and three others were injured in separate altercations.

Commerce City Police Department spokesperson Joanna Small described the weekend as one of the most violent on record for the fast-expanding community of about 70,000 people. 'We average maybe 5 or 6 homicides a year,' she said. 'We're now talking about four homicides and a person in critical condition in 39 hours.'

Shootings occurred in various locations, including a 7-Eleven parking lot, a public park, and a residential neighborhood. Aurora also experienced violence, with incidents including a fatal shooting at a nightclub and a shooting at a housing complex. Investigations are ongoing.
