An 18-year-old Palestinian opened fire at an Israeli civilian in the occupied West Bank city of Qalqilya, injuring him and two Palestinians, before being shot dead by Israeli troops, the military confirmed on Monday.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the shooter as a young man from the area. Photos from his social media profile depicted him in military-style attire, holding an assault rifle and ammunition.
The West Bank has seen escalating violence, intensifying following the Gaza conflict, with increased Israeli military operations, settler violence, and Palestinian street attacks.
