The Philippine Navy on Tuesday condemned the Chinese air force's actions over Scarborough Shoal as coercive, aggressive, and deceptive.

Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad stated that these actions have no place in the international arena governed by international law. The Philippine claims included allegations that China's air force dropped flares and conducted dangerous maneuvers, endangering Filipino pilots over the contested South China Sea waters.

In response, the Chinese military contested the accusations, asserting that their maneuvers were conducted in a professional and legal manner.
