In a significant breakthrough, Kota police have apprehended Mohammed Fayak Hussain, a fugitive accused of duping people through foreign currency exchange scams. Hussain, who had escaped police custody in Mumbai, was captured at the Kota railway station.
Hussain, identified by various aliases, had been evading capture for four months. Multiple teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch had been chasing leads across several states.
The pivotal tip came through a WhatsApp message from the Mumbai Crime Branch, leading Bhimganjmandi police, along with District Special Teams (DST), to conduct a search operation. They located Hussain at an Old Pump House near the railway station and confirmed his identity before handing him over to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
