Three former Pakistan Army officers have been taken into military custody over alleged connections with the court martial of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed, the military disclosed on Thursday.

Hameed, who led the ISI from 2019 to 2021, was arrested following accusations from a private property developer alleging misuse of his official authority. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed that the detained officers are suspected of actions “prejudicial to military discipline.”

Further investigations are ongoing into whether these retired officials and their associates were involved in actions that destabilized the institution, possibly influenced by political interests. The identities of the detained officers remain undisclosed. The inquiry began after the Supreme Court directed the defense ministry to probe allegations made by Top City Housing Society's owner Kanwar Moeez Khan.
