Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday stressed that BJP's 'Hitlershahi' (dictatorship) vis-a-vis the issue of farmers will not be tolerated.

''Farmers were hit and killed by the car of a minister's son and the Haryana CM is saying 'tit for tat'. Farmers were murdered. When Priyanka Gandhi was going to raise her voice against it, she was detained and kept at a place where there was no cleanliness, toilet, electricity,” Dotasra told reporters at PCC office.

“This era of 'Hitlershahi' will not be tolerated by the citizens, farmers and the poor. Congress workers will come out on the streets (to protest against it),” he said during a demonstration against the killing of farmers in UP's Lakhimpur Kheri and detention of AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi.

Congress leader and state Transport minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas compared Priyanka Gandhi to former prime minister Indira Gandhi, ''the iron lady'' who supported Bangladesh in the Liberation war and helped East Pakistan become an independent country, and stressed that her voice cannot be stifled.

''She (Priyanka) is the granddaughter of Indira Gandhi and daughter of former PM Rajiv Gandhi. She herself is a senior leader of the Congress and when she was going to UP, she was detained. Congress is the voice of the nation which cannot be suppressed,” Khachariyawas said.

He said the prime minister was quiet on the matter but people would give a befitting reply.

Chief Whip of Rajasthan Assembly, Mahesh Joshi, said that ''the attempt to kill democracy'' will not be tolerated.
