Taiwan's ruling party addressed comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday, suggesting they reflect an expectation for Taiwan to exhibit the same level of security resolve as Japan, South Korea, and the European Union.
"China is the biggest threat to the United States; this is the consensus of the Democratic and Republican parties," stated Lin Yu-chang, Secretary-General of Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party, in a formal statement.
Lin also highlighted the robust current state of Taiwan-U.S. relations, proclaiming it "the best era" for bilateral ties.
