US Republican vice presidential nominee J D Vance lauded former president Donald Trump and vowed to advocate for working-class Americans “cast aside and forgotten” by Democrats, during his first appearance at the Republican National Convention.

On Wednesday, Vance, 39, officially accepted the Republican vice-presidential nomination, making him one of the youngest individuals to ever assume that role. Addressing millions of Americans, the Ohio Senator spoke about his modest beginnings in the Midwest while condemning politicians, including President Joe Biden.

Vance and Trump are set to challenge President Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris in the November 5 presidential election. He emphasized Trump's dedication over the past eight years to fighting for American citizens, stating that despite an already successful career, Trump chose the challenging path of politics because the nation needed his leadership.
