The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest all 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly elections, senior party leader Sanjay Singh announced on Thursday.
The elections are scheduled for later this year, with AAP pledging a strong contest.
'The AAP will contest all 90 seats,' confirmed Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, flanked by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and senior leader Sandeep Pathak.
Singh took aim at the BJP government in Haryana, critiquing issues such as unemployment, law and order, and the Agnipath scheme. 'Today, there is an industry of extortion in Haryana. We saw how farmers were crushed during their agitation. Unemployment is also a big problem in Haryana,' he said.
Targeting the Agnipath scheme as an 'insult to the Army,' he elaborated on its provisions for recruiting youths between the age bracket of 17-and-a-half years and 21 for four years, with a retention rate of 25 percent for an additional 15 years. These recruits are known as Agniveers.
Chief Minister Mann noted that during AAP leaders' visits to different parts of Haryana, such as Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jind, residents expressed a desire for 'badlav' (change) in the state.
He accused the Congress, the BJP, and regional parties of having looted Haryana in the past. Mann asserted that AAP will contest the polls vigorously, promoting the slogan, 'Badlenge Haryana Ka Haal, Ab Layenge Kejriwal.'
