U.S. President Joe Biden criticized the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, leader of Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, indicating that it hinders efforts towards achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.
Biden revealed he discussed the issue with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a conversation earlier on Thursday.
The President made these comments at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where detainees released by Russia were welcomed late on Thursday.
