Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and the Gandhi family, alleging that they have failed to deliver on their election promises in the state. Speaking to ANI during the 'Mysuru Chalo' padayatra, jointly organized by the BJP and JD-U, Vijayendra specifically targeted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of ignoring numerous corruption cases.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) opposition alliance in Karnataka began their 10-day 'Mysuru Chalo' padayatra on August 3. The march, which started from Kengeri in Bengaluru and is heading to Mysore, aims to protest alleged scams involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Valmiki Corporation. The padayatra reached Channapatna today. Vijayendra claimed that the Congress party had assured the people of Karnataka of good governance, development, and a corruption-free administration, but has failed on all fronts. He suggested that the farmers are suffering and the CM has neglected multiple corruption allegations.
Vijayendra further accused the Chief Minister of being a puppet controlled by the Congress high command, stating, "Karnataka has become an ATM for the Congress party and the Gandhi family. We are fighting against this corrupt administration and demand the removal of the current CM." Former Karnataka CM and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy echoed these sentiments, arguing that Siddaramaiah has avoided addressing the issues honestly and relies on his ministers and the party's high command for support. Kumaraswamy stated, "I am a puppet of Kannadigas, and the charges against me as a puppet of BJP are baseless."
However, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar dismissed the BJP's accusations regarding the alleged MUDA scam, contending that the opposition is making an issue out of a non-issue.
