On Tuesday, renowned street artist Banksy revealed the ninth and possibly final mural of his recent animal-themed series. The latest piece, located on the shutters of the London Zoo, features a gorilla prising open metal bars to release birds and a sea lion.
The series, which began with a mountain goat illustration on Monday, captured public attention through its creative displays, including monkeys on a railway bridge and pelicans above a fish and chip shop. Banksy's Instagram account displayed all the murals, with the zoo piece being the speculated finale as announced by the BBC.
London Zoo's media manager, Rebecca Blanchard, expressed delight at the mural, noting it brought joy to many visitors and staff. She hinted the zoo plans to preserve the artwork, labeling it a 'grand finale' in an 'incredible series celebrating animals.'
