Karnataka Deputy CM Calls BJP's Corruption Allegations 'Bogus'

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday lambasted the BJP for their corruption allegations against the current state government, calling the claims 'bogus.' He asserted that these accusations are a reaction to Congress unveiling the previous BJP government's corrupt practices.

Addressing the allegations, Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Congress President, stated, 'There is nothing like that. It is all bogus. We are exposing their corruption, and that's why they are speaking.'

Speaking at the Janandolana event in Mysuru, he highlighted de-notification cases against Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, claiming officials informed him of 50 such cases. Shivakumar alleged that Kumaraswamy sought refuge in the BJP due to these issues and criticized him for not allowing growth within JDS.

Shivakumar furthermore accused the BJP of destabilization attempts, citing the party's 'Operation Lotus,' but confidently stated, 'Congress will rule for 10 years.' He also defended CM Siddaramaiah, asserting full party backing against opposition attacks.

Refuting claims of irregularities in the MUDA case involving the CM's wife, he clarified the issues arose due to MUDA's mistake and linked BJP and JDS to multiple scams during their tenure. Concluding his remarks, he emphasized the ongoing fight against what he termed 'anti-constitutional BJP,' vowing that good will eventually triumph over evil.
