Congress Accuses CPI(M) of Communal Campaign in Kerala's Vadakara

The Congress party has accused the CPI(M) of conducting a communal campaign in Kerala's Vadakara constituency during the Lok Sabha elections. The allegations center around a social media post labeling LDF candidate K K Shailaja as a 'kafir' (non-believer) posted just hours before polling began.

According to police, the contentious post was disseminated through several CPI(M) online platforms and WhatsApp groups. K K Shailaja, who lost to UDF's Shafi Parambil, has denied any involvement from her party, suggesting the campaign was intended to damage the CPI(M) and LDF's electoral prospects.

Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan and Congress MP Parambil asserted that the police probe supports their claim of non-involvement. They argue the campaign was an attempt to create communal tension among Vadakara voters to sway the election results. Both leaders criticized the police for delayed actions and pledged to pursue legal measures to ensure justice.
