As part of an ongoing drive to demolish properties bought from the proceeds of crime, a four storey house of gangster Sube Gujjar in a Manesar village was razed on Friday, a senior official said.

A team of Municipal Corporation Manesar (MCM) razed the gangster's house, built illegally on agricultural land, in Bar Gurjar village, he said. The MCM had razed the boundary walls of the house on Thursday evening and had to return due to heavy rain.

The family members of the gangster Gujjar, who is lodged in Bhondsi jail, alleged that they had not got any notice earlier.

"The house was not only the property of Sube. We also had a share in the house which was razed completely without any notice. We will challenge it in the court", said Gujjar's relative Ravi.

Omwati, another family member, claimed the house was built 10 years ago and during that time there was no corporation. MCM's District Town Planner (DTP) Sanjay Singh, who was on the spot, said the house was illegally built on the agricultural land, and the boundary wall of the house built in about three and a half thousand square yards was demolished on Thursday.

"After vacating the house, the demolition action was started again on the second day on Friday. No approval, license or change of land use was taken from the department for the construction of the house. We serve the notice earlier to vacate the house and the action has been taken as per the act", said DTP Singh.

The demolition was done with the help of two JCB machines in the presence of over 150 cops, police said.

The top MCM officials along with ACP Manesar Suresh Kumar were also present on the spot. The gangster Sube Gujjar is involved in 42 criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder, extortion and arms act in districts of Gurugram, Mewat, Rewari, Palwal and in Delhi, police said.
