RLDA vice-chairman Ved Parkash Dudeja said, ''The proposed land parcel is ideal for residential as well as commercial development because of its proximity to the railway station and airport.'' The land parcel is adjacent to the Bagdogra railway station and 2.8 kilometres from Bagdogra Airport.

During the current fiscal, RLDA has leased out 22 sites in various states for a cumulative lease premium of Rs 1837 crore.

It includes railway assets to be developed in Bangalore, Bhopal, Egmore (Chennai), Bareilly, Ludhiana, Muzaffarpur and Kannur.
