Indian batter Sanju Samson reacted with excitement on Wednesday as Rajasthan Royals head coach Kumar Sangakkara revealed he is using two of Samson's bats for village cricket in the UK. The revelation was made in a video shared by the Rajasthan Royals on Instagram, which Samson reposted on his story.
In the video, Sangakkara noted, 'In my village cricket, I have two of Sanju's bats. He was kind enough to give them to me because I have no memorabilia, no bats lying around the house, nothing. So I had to start from scratch.' He humorously added a request to RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for more cricket kits.
Samson's joy was evident in his response, as he captioned the video, 'Kumar Sangakkara using my bats!! HAHAHA... IT'S A DREAM!!' This season, Samson's performance was pivotal in leading RR to the IPL playoffs and earning him a spot in India's T20 World Cup squad. Despite not playing a match in the World Cup, he now proudly holds a winners' medal.
