In the ninth leg of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour, Vidhatri Urs emerged as the leader after the first round at the par-71 Clover Greens course, finishing with a 3-under 68. Though this is just her third professional event, Urs has previously won on the WPGT as an amateur. She is currently one shot ahead of Sneha Singh, 2023 Order of Merit winner, promising amateur Saanvi Somu, and emerging star Karishma Govind, all of whom carded 2-under 69.
Urs, showing her potential as a rising star, birdied the third but faced setbacks with bogeys on the next two holes, turning in a 1-over. She bounced back impressively on the back nine with birdies on the 10th, 12th, 15th, and 17th, avoiding further bogeys to finish at 3-under 68. Sneha Singh had an eagle on the par-3 ninth, complemented by three birdies, but was set back by a bogey and a double bogey. Saanvi Somu had a consistent round with three birdies and one bogey for her 69.
Mannat Brar, who was 4-under through 15 holes, encountered difficulties with a bogey on the 16th and a double bogey on the 17th. Shweta Mansingh started strong with three birdies in the first five holes but dropped shots on the second and fifth, along with additional bogeys on the ninth and 10th. A late birdie on the 15th brought her back to 1-under 70. Agrima Manral had 10 consecutive pars before birdies on the 11th and 13th, eventually finishing tied for fifth at 1-under 70 alongside seasoned golfer Gaurika Bishnoi. The depth of Indian women's golf was evident as six players finished under par on the first day.
