Valentin Bontus of Austria clinched gold in men’s kitesurfing at the Summer Olympics in Marseille, after winning two consecutive finals on Friday.

Slovenia’s Toni Vodisek claimed silver and Singapore’s Max Maeder took home bronze in the event, which had faced repeated delays owing to light winds.

The finals saw competitors Vodisek, Bontus, Maeder, and Italy’s Riccardo Pianosi battle it out, with Bontus securing his victory in the last race of the event.
