Seamer Ollie Robinson delivered an impressive player-of-the-match performance, leading England to victory in the first test against New Zealand. However, a sore knee will prevent him from participating in the second match, confirmed the England Cricket Board on Monday.

Robinson, who returned to test cricket for the first time in over two years, claimed seven wickets, with a notable five in the first innings, securing England's 115-run win on a challenging wicket at Lord's. Despite his outstanding comeback, the 32-year-old reported knee discomfort after Friday's training session, leading to a scan and the ECB's decision to call up uncapped Henry Crocombe as cover.

The ECB announced that Robinson will remain with the squad, undergoing rehabilitation for his knee before the third test. The second match of the series is set to begin at The Oval on Wednesday, with England already missing regular captain Ben Stokes and bowler Gus Atkinson, who are absent due to a nightclub incident investigation. The third test is scheduled for June 25 at Trent Bridge.
