EU aims to play significant role in net zero economy, von der Leyen says
The European Commission will propose measures to help European industries get rid of their CO2 emissions and to counter stimulus offered to companies in the United States, Japan and China, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday.
"We want to seize this moment, we know that in the next years, the shape of the economy, the net zero economy, and where it is located will be decided. And we want to be an important part of this net zero industry that we need globally," von der Leyen said at a news conference.
