The BBC, in collaboration with TVU Networks, revolutionized the 2024 UK General Election coverage by deploying a cloud-based platform, efficiently managing 369 live feeds. These feeds were seamlessly integrated into the BBC iPlayer, BBC News website, and projected on a virtual mosaic screen in London Broadcasting House, reaching a peak audience of 4.6 million.
Through the TVU Anywhere app, custom mobile streaming kits were sent to voting locations, enabling swift, eco-friendly coverage without traditional broadcast equipment. The TVU Search tool recorded and replayed critical election moments instantly.
This innovative approach maintained high-quality standards, scaled up feeds, and managed peak traffic cost-effectively, pioneering a new broadcasting method. Enhanced regional coverage through TVU Partyline ensured personalized and comprehensive election reporting across digital and traditional platforms.
