Understanding India's rural distress 

COVID-19 has hastened what is called the structural transition of the Indian economy. The structural transition is likely to increase the rural and urban divide by increasing better opportunities for people in urban areas while limiting it in rural areas. This can also be considered a side effect of service-led growth where soft skills acquired through education play a more important role.
