The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests (IDF) in 2012. Since then, each year this day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
On this day, countries are encouraged to undertake efforts to organize local, national, and international activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns.

This global celebration of forests provides a platform to raise awareness of the importance of all types of woodlands and trees, and celebrate the ways in which they sustain and protect us.The majority of oxygen that is of utmost importance to sustain life in Earth is produced by trees hence it's the responsibility of every human being to plant trees and save forests.
