Kerala Assembly pays tribute to departed MLA
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 27 (PTI): The Kerala Assembly
Tuesday paid rich tributes to sitting MLA, P B Abdul Razak,
who passed away recently.
The homage was paid on the opening day of the 13th
session of the House.
Sixty three year-old Razak, who represented
Manjeshwaram constituency in the House, died of a heart attack
at a private hospital in Kasaragod on October 20.
The members of the ruling CPI(M)-led LDF and
opposition Congress-headed UDF paid homage to the Indian Union
Muslim League legislator and recalled his contributions.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Razak was a
leader approachable to any ordinary citizen any time.
Opposition leader in the assembly Ramesh Chennithala,
minister Kadakampally Surendran and MLAs O Rajagopal, Anoop
Jacob, K B Ganesh Kumar and P C George were among those who
shared memories of the IUML legislator.
The House was adjourned for the day after it observed
silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The business session, scheduled till December 13, will
begin Wednesday.
