Mustard seed prices fell by Rs 27 to Rs 3,930 per quintal in futures trade Tuesday after participants off-loaded their positions to book profits. Market analysts attributed the fall in mustard seed prices to off-loading of bets by operators, triggered by a weak trend on ample stocks.

On the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed for July contracts eased by Rs 27, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 3,930 per quintal with an open interest of 54,110 lots. Mustard seed for delivery in August contracts also shed Rs 30, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 3,949 per quintal with an open interest of 48,590 lots.
