Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recognizes importance of data protection

Recognizing the importance of data protection and keeping personal data of citizens secure and protected, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India constituted a Committee of Experts under the Chairmanship of Justice B N Srikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India.

The Committee of Experts on Data Protection has submitted its report and draft Personal Data Protection Bill, which are available on MeitY website URL: http://meity.gov.in/data-protection-framework

MeitY solicits comments from General Public on the report and Draft Personal Data Protection Bill by 10th September 2018.
