Libya arrests Egyptian forces officer over suspected Islamist militant activities

Eastern Libyan forces on Monday arrested former Egyptian special forces officer Hisham al-Ashmawy who is wanted by Egypt for suspected Islamist militant activities, a Libyan military spokesman said.

Ashmawy was caught in Derna where eastern Libyan forces are fighting jihadists, the spokesman said.
