Kim Jong Un invites Pope Francis as North Korea tries to improve multilateral relations

South Korean President Moon Jae-in met Pope Francis on Thursday and the president's office said he had given the pope a letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inviting the pontiff to visit.

Moon, who is Catholic, also asked Pope Francis to wish the Korean peninsula peace, reconciliation and shared prosperity, Yonhap news agency reported in Seoul, citing Moon's office.
