Uber in talks with Coventry City Council to give license to its drivers - report

The Uber has in talks with Coventry City Council about giving license to its drivers so that they can operate in the city, BBC Political Journalist Simon Gilbert posted on his verified Twitter account.

According to the journalist, the talks were confirmed by Andrew Walster, the council officer who oversees taxi licensing.

The Council's stance is softening after a change in the councilor who oversees this area. and a decision to grant a license to another app-based operator soon after.

Currently, the Coventry City Council does not grant licenses to Uber drivers. The drivers working in the city are licensed by the neighboring councils.
