5 persons including woman involved in 35 criminal cases arrested in Jind

The Haryana Police Tuesday arrested five persons, including a woman, involved in at least 35 criminal cases, officials said.

The accused were identified as Pawan alias Poni, a resident of village Ashrafgarh, Pawan's sister Sunita, Amit alias Mita of Sonipat, Bunty and Rishi, both from Jind, the police said.

At least 35 cases of theft registered in various police stations were unearthed with their arrest, they said.

During patrolling, a police team noticed a vehicle bearing Delhi registration number parked on link road near village Barsana in Jind district. The team went close to the vehicle and spotted five persons, including a woman, near it.

When interrogated, they confessed to carrying out a major incident of theft while revealing their identity, they said.
