A drone attack by militias in Myanmar's capital was a success and sought to undermine the ruling military and show that its generals have nowhere to hide, an official from the anti-junta parallel National Unity Government (NUG) said on Thursday.
"This is a time when the junta is forcing conscription and causing fear for the people. This attack on their nerve centre, Naypyitaw, we want to highlight that they don't have a safe place," NUG spokesperson Kyaw Zaw said, without specifying whether targets had been hit.
Military-run TV earlier reported 13 drones were shot down over Naypyitaw, with no casualties or damage to property.
