BJP leaders from TL meet union ministers,seek sanction of
projects
Hyderabad, Jan 10 (PTI): BJP leaders from Telangana
Thursday met Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goel and
Prakash Javadekar in Delhi and requested sanction of various
projects in the state, including setting up an IIM.
The delegation, led by state BJP president K Laxman,urged
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar to take steps to
establish an IIM and also a tribal university as per the
Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, party sources said.
Separate representations were submitted to to the Union
Ministers on the issues raised by the state BJP leaders.
The delegation requested Gadkari, the Union Minister for
Transport and Highways, to allocate funds for highways in
Telangana and to take steps for six-laning the National
Highway (NH)-44 from Bowenpally to Medchal via Kompally on the
outskirts of Hyderabad.
They requested Union Railway Minister Goel to clear
pending railway projects and speed up the works of ongoing
projects in Telangana.
They pointed out that the Multi Modal Transport System
(MMTS) Phase-II project in Hyderabad was progressing at a
snails pace.
They sought establishing a workshop at Kazipet with an
estimated cost of Rs 270 crore.
The state government had to provide 160 acres of land
for this purpose.
