Hyderabad (Telangana) [India] Feb 7 (ANI): The 22-year-old school dropout from Hyderabad who devised a new smart system for vehicles to avoid road accidents by detecting the amount of alcohol consumed by the driver has received praise from the state's ruling TRS party.

The detector made by Sai Teja senses whether or not a driver has consumed alcohol and will accordingly restrict the vehicle's engine. Moreover, it will also send an SMS alert to the configured mobile numbers.

Teja had earlier told ANI, "I stopped studying after class 10, but was interested in electronics and I learnt to code from the Internet and invented a new alcohol detector which prevents the engine of the vehicle from starting if it detects that the driver has consumed alcohol over the notified limit."

K  Taraka Rama Rao, the working president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) re-tweeted the story and said: "More than happy to support the young lad through Telangana state innovation cell".

Elaborating further his device, Sai said, "A text SMS is sent to the numbers which are saved by micro-controller in the device with vehicle number. It took me 15 days to invent this device." (ANI)
