VUDA to build over 2,000 homes for poor people near Vadodara

The Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) will build 2,182 houses for the economically weaker sections (EWS) of the society in Hayali and Bill villages on the outskirts of Vadodara, a top official said.

VUDA chairman Ajay Bhadoo Friday said the process for inviting tenders for the construction of these houses will be initiated within a week. "The total cost of the project is Rs 173 crore and cost of each house will be around Rs 4.5 lakh," Bhadoo said.

It is to ensure that women, Divyang (specially-abled) people, and those belonging to SC, ST, OBC and minority communities get a roof, he said.
