France supports Brazil's proposal to tax the super-rich, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said in a statement on X on Wednesday.

"With my Brazilian counterpart @Haddad_Fernando, we are launching a joint initiative today at the G20 in Washington on minimum taxation of the world's wealthiest individuals. Our objective is very clear: to combat all forms of tax optimization worldwide," Le Maire said.

He added that the fight for fair international taxation has been at the heart of President Emmanuel Macron's economic policy for the past seven years and had achieved concrete results with the introduction of a minimum tax on digital giants and a minimum tax on corporate taxes.
