Bolivian lawmakers with former president Evo Morales' leftist party MAS plan to boycott a legislative session on Tuesday for appointing an interim president after Morales resigned and fled to Mexico, the head of the party in Congress, Sergio Choque, told Reuters.

"Without us, there will not be a quorum and that's the position of the entire national party of MAS," Choque said. Morales was headed to Mexico to seek asylum on Tuesday as security forces sought to quell violence over his resignation.
