Mumbai likely to witness very heavy rainfall; police issues advisory

Mumbai Police has advised residents to take precautions to ensure their safety as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted very heavy rainfall in the city in next 24 hours.

After a break of few days, heavy rains returned to Mumbai and its neighboring areas on Monday morning, affecting road and rail traffic and briefly disrupting operations at the city airport. The suburban areas received around 20 mm rainfall in just three hours starting 8.30 am.

Many rail tracks like Ghatkopar, Kanjurmarg and Sion are already waterlogged due to the impact of rains.
