The national beach soccer team in Senegal finally won the African Cup of Nations (officially CAN) Beach Soccer tournament 2018 after defeating Nigeria by 6-1 on Friday (December 14) afternoon in the finals played at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.

Having led 1-0 from the beginning, Senegal's Teranga Lions kept increasing the score line and Nigeria's Super Eagles never recovered, eventually conceding six goals.

Senegal beach soccer team is the defending champions, and trainer Ngalla Sylla's boys outperformed all their opponents during the competition. The two finalists are automatically qualified for the 2019 Beach Soccer World Cup tournament in Paraguay.

Reports say Senegal has now won the African beach soccer championship in a row, for the sixth time.
